Getting addicted to running!

I can't even imagine that I would ever have to say this in my wildest dreams. I feel lacking if I don't run at least once a week...yeeeeh! Join me friends, you will feel just as good, just 3-4 miles, nothing fancy but trying to stay healthy and save a life in the process, it doesn't get any better than that.
The challenge is still on and D-Day is December 15th

Three more days to the Long beach 5k Race

I have not trained enough so I am beginning to get cold feet. I am still running 3 miles in about an hour, my goal is to run in less than an hour - 45 mins. or less, OK that will be pushing it but I can dream!
Checkout the progress of the 12 week challenge on Nike+ and encourage your favorite runner, me included, thanks

$1, $5 or $10 per mile???

My Nike + gadgets are on the way yea-e-e-eh! Ok, this really means that any training I have done in the last 2 attempts at running have not been recorded but that is fine...it gives me the incentive to do more, the more miles the more the money. SO what are you willing to give an orphan if I complete a mile each time, your choice - $1, $5 or $10 per mile???

Survived training day 1...hmmmmm

I finally registered for the Long beach 5k run thanks to Denise my friend from work who is running the half marathon to benefit FOADAC! Shame on me I could not dare the half marathon with her. All I had done before was a walk for this or that cause, AIDS, Autism, women's cancers, leukemia etc. This time I will be running to save an African orphan to support FOADAC and stay fit.
The 12 laps to complete a 5k loop run was brutal and by the end of about 75minutes I had ran, walked and wobbled at the same time...my shins are beginning to ache so I can't wait for what will happen tomorrow, stay tuned and don't forget to register for the 12 week Challenge

Designing the walk/run/sport T-shirt

I got a dry-ink syndrome...I am unable to come up with the words for the T-shirt. Finally I got a few to choose from:

1. I am walking to save an orphan

2. Feed and orphan walk

3. Walk for the orphaned, abandoned and disabled African Child -WALK4FOADAC

Then the usual:

4. Fitness For FOADAC

5. Train and save an African orphan

6. Support an orphan as you walk, run or bike

Let me know which one you like or if a combination or 2 or more. No logo problems since the original FOADAC logo will go on each T-shirt.

Great Idea

This is a great idea. What a way to help the needy and help yourself at the same time.

The walk or sport to reduce 2 dress sizes begins...

My dear friend Addy, suggested that the dress size goal is a good one because it is more realistic. I agree with her and will start walking as soon as I get the walk T-shirts designed. Remember, all walks or fitness projects should raise awareness or funds.
Back to my little Sis - Dr. Nabila, how about that pedometer or Nike running shoes that logs your mileage online as you walk or run??? That's a tall order, I know...
My goal will be something like 500 miles in 1 year at $1 a mile that raises $500. Can you imagine if I had just 10 followers with the same goal, we would collectively raise at least $5,000 in a year for the orphans. And the best part - maintain a healthy lifestyle and dress size to die for!

Look for a fitness project

Please help me out here:
What should the theme be? Any ideas on what we should use as the first fitness project?
I am considering the following, let me know what you think or can add to:
1. reduce 2 dress sizes
2. loose xlbs in one year
3. train for a marathon in 7 months...LOL!

How can I help a child in need?

I was thinking of starting a walk to raise funds and awareness for the orphans of FOADAC and came about blogging my walk progress. Then it occurred to me that the walk does not have to be just an event but a way of life as I have been struggling with my weight since giving birth to my beautiful Nina and Bryce.
The other day I asked my fitness-trainer baby sister, Nabila to spear-head the project for me...
My vision is to stay fit and recruit many friends and family to join any fitness program of their choice that will not only benefit their health but raise some very needed funds to feed the orphans, cloth and educate them.
Walkers, runners, cyclists, bikers or lovers of any form of exercise and fitness are welcome to enroll, all we need is your zeal to stay fit for an honorable cause.
